Monthly
lunches
RHOMA
holds monthly luncheons for members on the third Wednesday
of each month at 12:30 p.m. Speakers invited deal
with, primarily but not exclusively, current issues
in international affairs.
Annual
Events
RHOMA
has two main annual events; a reception, usually on
the ninth floor of the Pearson Building in Ottawa
to which members and spouses or companions are invited,
and a luncheon at which the Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs is invited to give us a tour d'horizon of
Departmental affairs and foreign policy issues.
Newsletter
We
issue, normally twice a year, a newsletter reporting
to members on RHOMA activities and on matters of general
interest, along with an updated membership list recording
mailing addresses, phone, e-mail and fax addresses.
The newsletters are also available online on this
web site. Click here

Maryon
Pearson / RHOMA Scholarship
This
scholarship, held at the Lester B. Pearson College
of the Pacific, was the object of a successful campaign
within RHOMA. The RHOMA contribution is linked with
a bequest from Maryon Pearson. Members have donated
$90,000 as the RHOMA share of the scholarship fund,
which totals $150,000.
Project
Grants
The
Directing Group of RHOMA has at its disposal a small
sum of money for grants to deserving projects. We
provide a $500.00 prize annually for the best article
by an FS1 or FS2 to appear in the PAFSO quarterly
bout de papier. We also give annually a $1,000.00
prize in the master's degree program in international
relations at Laval University, in honour of Senator
Raoul Dandurand. This prize serves to help support
a student working for the summer at a Canadian Mission.
